Silk 2026 - 2027

A very warm welcome to Silk Class! We are so excited to begin a new year together and can’t wait to make lots of happy, fun-filled memories with the children.
Our topic for the Autumn term is Superstars. Through a lovely mix of books, play and practical activities, we’ll be helping the children celebrate what makes each of them unique, special and super!
Each day will be full of opportunities to learn, explore and connect. The children will enjoy sensory play, songs, rhymes, intensive interaction and lots of chances to build positive relationships with the adults and children in class. We’ll also be developing gross and fine motor skills through fun coordination games, movement activities and finger gym challenges.
Book Explorers
This term, our book adventures will include:
- Head to Toe
- Measuring Me!
- The Gingerbread Man
We’ll bring these stories to life in lots of exciting ways, including sensory stories, sound buttons, core boards, songs and colourful semantics. Our aim is to spark curiosity, encourage engagement and help every child enjoy sharing books in a way that suits them.
Mathmagicians
Early maths will be woven into our day through rhymes, songs, practical activities and playful hands-on learning. We’ll use real objects wherever possible, and children will meet maths naturally during play too — from counting blocks in a tower to noticing shapes, patterns and numbers all around them.
Beyond the Walls
Some of the most magical learning moments happen beyond the classroom, so we’re delighted to offer the children a wide range of experiences throughout the week. These include swimming, soft play, sensory room sessions and daily outdoor provision, giving everyone plenty of opportunities to explore, move, play and shine.
We’re really looking forward to a super start to the year and to sharing this exciting journey with you and your children!
