Music plays a crucial role in the day to day life of students at Park Lane. We use songs of reference for various points throughout the day, to help cue our students in to what is happening. Music is also a subject that can be taught to all and expressed by all. We encourage all our students to participate in active listening, commenting on likes and dislikes of music from a wide range of genres and time periods in music. Our music curriculum covers all areas of music from listening, composing and performing, alongside learning musical skills. We are currently the lead special school for music, for Love Music Trust, who are our local music hub. We offer support and guidance for other schools, as well as high quality teaching and delivery of music.

Our partnership with LMT includes them providing PBuzz lessons to all KS3 students for a term for each of the 3 years they are in KS3. Our KS1 classes also take part in LMT projects in the community.

We currently have 2 lunchtime music clubs: a school choir which is open to Upper Key Stage 2 upwards and a sing and sign group which is open to all.
