ICT & Internet Safety

At our school, ICT is an essential part of teaching, learning and communication. We use technology to engage and empower our pupils, ensuring that every child can access learning in ways that meet their individual needs and abilities.

Our classrooms are equipped with a range of devices and assistive technologies, including tablets, laptops, interactive whiteboards and specialist software. These tools support communication, creativity, independence and the development of important digital skills.

Online safety is a key priority. Internet access is carefully filtered and monitored to provide a safe and secure environment. Pupils are taught how to stay safe online through age-appropriate and needs-led lessons. This includes understanding how to protect personal information, recognising safe and unsafe online behaviour, knowing what to do if something worries them, and developing respectful communication skills.

Online safety is embedded across the curriculum and reinforced through assemblies, class discussions and themed events such as Safer Internet Day. We work closely with families to promote consistent online safety messages at home and at school.

Through ICT and a strong focus on online safety, we aim to build confidence, independence and essential life skills, preparing our pupils for life in an increasingly digital world.
