Community

At Park Lane, our humanities subjects make up the Community Value group. We believe that every child deserves inspiring opportunities to explore the world around them. Through our humanities curriculum, we bring subjects like history, geography and religious education to life in ways that are meaningful, practical and accessible for all learners.
We focus on building curiosity, confidence and real‑world understanding. Lessons are carefully adapted to meet each child’s individual needs and learning styles, using sensory experiences, storytelling, community visits and hands‑on activities wherever possible.
Our aim is to help pupils make sense of their past, understand the diverse world they live in and develop the skills they need to become thoughtful, respectful and active members of their community.
Above all, we want learning in humanities to be enjoyable, inclusive and empowering for every child.
Our subject leaders are:
Laura Pinkerton and Laura Gavin - RE
